Industrial Schools.
« on: Sunday 03 August 14 18:34 BST (UK) »
In another branch of the family I found a record of Richard Spencer at York Industrial School in 1881. He would be about 13. He was born in Brampton, Nr. Chesterfield. Sheffield would have been much closer to his birth place. No records exist of the school  at York.
Interestingly another boy of about the same age and born in the same village was also at the same school in York. There may be some connection but have no idea what it might be.
Any thoughts from the bright ideas department please?
