Hi everyone,

I'm looking for my Grandmothers family history.

It's really stumped me, she was born in Fermoy, CoCork 1924. I've no idea about her family history at all, I've looked on census records, church records I've even emailed people who had Lawlors in Fermoy around that time...
Does anyone know anything about them? I'd be so grateful.

there are 9 births for Lawlor 1900 - 1930 in Fermoy ......maybe if you make a note of them all

If you order her birth cert you can get her parents names, and address.
Her marriage cert would also do.

Certs can be ordered for €4 from the GRO in Roscommon

The form can be a bit confusing as it will ask for mother's maiden name and such but don't worry if you give them the name, district, quarter (date) Vol and Page number it will be fine.
Be sure to ask for a Research copy.
They will also email the cert if you include your email.

She was born in 1924 which means there are no Irish census to look at the last being 13 years before she was born, so you need to get her birth certificate and then look for her parents on the 1911 census, which should take you back to their parents ( her grandparents) and her parents siblings ( her aunts/uncles) The only other records you can look at are parish records and you will know if you get the birth certificate which parish to look in for those then
