Stone family in Reading
« on: Friday 08 August 14 09:58 BST (UK) »
I'mTrying to find relatives of my Grandfather James Alfred George Stone. He was born in the Reading area in 1890 and from  what I've managed to research was 1 of 6 children. I know his parents were Reuben Stone and Elizabeth Matilda Malham.  He was married to Mary Ellen Griffiths who was born in Cilgerran in Wales.  My late Mother spent many a happy holiday with her Grandparents when she was young and that is all I know.  I would love to get in touch with someone who is related to my Grandfathers side of the family.
Thanks

I am not (as far as I know) related - it looks like James Alfred george was b.1889 not 1890

Birth reg FreeBMD
James A G Stone Dec qtr 1899 Reading 2c 366

it seems like Reuben and Elizabeth Matilda had 8 children -but 4 had died pre 1911

Just a thought, there's a Pell Street in Reading - that could easily have been misheard as Pill or Powell ....
