1861 Coroners inquest
« on: Thursday 14 August 14 12:57 BST (UK) »
Hello ,  from his death certificate i have found out that there was inquest into the death of Richard Wright who died 4th May 1861 at Greatford .  Could anyone tell me if the records of this might survive ?

I have tried searching the Newspaper Archives on FindMyPast but i could not find a report.

Many thanks ,

Gary.

Hi,

The county archives would be the place to try;  if the Inquest file has not survived then they can advise as to which local newspapers might have carried a report.

Hi

If you are unable to find a newspaper report of the Inquest it is listed as number 2669 on the Lincolnshire Inquests CD, volume 2 1809-1873, published by the Lincolnshire Family History Society and available directly from the Society or on line from Genfair or Parish Chest.

Unfortunately Copyright laws do not permit me to reproduce the details on here but all I will say is that Richard met a very grisly end  :(

Hello Alan ,   sorry i have not replied sooner but i have been away on holiday  :) > Many thanks for the info about the CD.  I have a copy of Richard's death certificate so i know what happened to him . i am hoping the coroners report will provide more details of the where and why ?

Very best regards ,

Gary.
