Percy was born in 1886 in Gravesend Kent and was the 2nd son of Alfred & Elizabeth Toms.
He was living at 13 Palace Road Crouch End North London and was working as a Clerk when he joined the Royal Fusiliers on the 29th January 1916.
He  served as a Lance Corporal with the 1st/7th Battalion Middlesex Regiment and was killed on the 16th September 1916 at the Battle of the Somme, his body was never recovered and he is remembered with honour on the Thiepval War Memorial Pier and Face 12 D and 13 B
