Finding an Inquest report from Beverley conducted in 1865

Whilst researching some of me East Yorkshire ancestors, I stumbled on a newspaper article which aroused my interests as it reported the death of my 4xGreat-Grandmother: Rebecca Armstrong (Nee Loft) in 1865. The circumstances of her death seemed quite horrific as the verdict was given as "accidental burning". This occurred whilst she was living at Routh's Hospital in Beverley.

As I know for certain that an inquest was held on this matter, I am curious to know where such documents might have ended up and whether it would be possible to source them now so that I have a clearer idea on the circumstances surrounding her death.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated!

I suggest you contact the East Riding Archives and ask if they survive

Very few do because historically they were the property of the coroner and may not have found their way into the archives for safe-keeping.

At the end of the day, the only information you may get is that in the newspaper report.

Hi Henning...I think this was called Ann Routh's Almshouses of Beverley...if you Google images you will find a picture of it.
Also the History Centre in Hull may have some information that may help.
