George Vennell 1840 Bath
« on: Friday 12 September 14 14:13 BST (UK) »
Hello all,
I have a George Vennell in the family that is quite a mystery.
What I know:
Born in England around 1840.
Wife: Annie ?
Daughter: Emily Elizabeth born 1857 in England.
Travelled to Canada in 1870.
I know a fair bit once in Canada, but nothing related to England.
From a newspaper article written on George at his death, it states he was a lay preacher in Bath.
I realize that does not mean he was born here, but it is a start.
I see on a 1841 census there is a George living in Lyncombe and Widcombe with his family.
In 1851 I see what I think is the same George living in Bath Union Workhouse.
I have scanned the bmd and am not sure anything relates.

I was just wondering if anyone else would be researching this family.
I know, it is a needle in a haystack.
Thank you for you time,

Kathy
