Goldsmiths, later of Herts baptised Bedfordshire
« on: Friday 26 September 14 21:42 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I'm looking for any further information on my Goldsmith ancestors from Pirton.  So far I have traced back to Peter Goldsmith (a coffin maker) and Sarah Primmet.  I have found three of their children: Sarah, Ann and Peter (jr) (my ancestor).  I'm just trying to find anything else about their extended family, their jobs, and their ancestors.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Can you include some details of the timescale please - birthyears/marriages etc etc

What census and BMD info do you already have so we don't duplicate

Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
Carlin (Ireland & Liverpool) Doughty & Wright (Liverpool) Dick & Park (Scotland & Liverpool)

Several trees on Ancestry show his birthyear as 1684 in Bedfordshire and marriage 1713 so we are not talking census or freebmd entries are we?

Hi CaroleW,

Sorry, forgot to put dates!

You are right about the marriage date though, (1713).  Peter and Sarah baptised Sarah in 1717, Ann in 1719, and Peter in 1727.  Peter (jr) married Elizabeth Bedford in 1747 in Pirton.

Hope this is enough!

Hi Dawnsh,

Yes, I have looked on that website and it has given me a few more details which is great, thanks!

Also, you may not have realised CaroleW but you've solved the problem of where they came from!

Several trees on Ancestry show his birthyear as 1684 in Bedfordshire and marriage 1713 so we are not talking census or freebmd entries are we?

I didn't realise that other people had him born in Bedfordshire and I have found the baptism that relates to those trees.

He was baptised in Shillington Bedfordshire so can someone move this to the Bedfordshire board, that would be great (I'll rename it obviously)?  Or should I start a fresh topic!?

Thanks everyone, anymore info on the Pirton Goldsmiths will still be appreciated!
