I need some help finding a family in the 1891 and 1901 census...
« on: Thursday 02 October 14 21:34 BST (UK) »
Ada Davidson Owen (or Owens) was the daughter of George Cairns Owens and Sarah Ann Singleton and was born about 1867 in Birkenhead, Cheshire.

She married David Lloyd in 1885 in West Derby, Lancashire. She is registered as Owen. While everything indicates that she had been living in Cheshire she did marry in Lancashire which is not a stretch as she had family living in Liverpool.

So far I haven't found her in any census with her husband David Lloyd.

I did find her in the 1911 census with her mother Sarah Ann and her mother's second husband John Parkinson living in Cheshire.

In the 1911 household with her are two of her children...Jessie Lillian Lloyd age 15 and Frederick Cairns Lloyd age 11. Jessie was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire and Frederick was born in Mold, Wales. It states that Ada has been married for 24 years, has had 8 children with 4 still living.  It doesn't say she is a widow so where the heck is David Lloyd  :-\

I just cannot seem to find her or her husband and children in 1891 or 1901.

Any help would be appreciated  :)

What do you know of David Lloyd?

I see that this transcription has his age at marriage as 21:

Not much I'm afraid except that his father was Evan Lloyd. I wondered if he may have been from Wales since Frederick was born there so they must have been living there at some point  ???

Frederick's RAF record for 1918/19 gives his birthdate as 30.4.1899 Mold, religion C of E.

Next of kin is his father David Lloyd of Leamington House, Upton Rd, Moreton.
