Cardiff Workhouse
« on: Thursday 09 October 14 13:03 BST (UK) »
I am looking for information regarding Cardiff Workhouse (1943)

My mother was born there in September 1943 and subsequently adopted approx March 1944 but not sure if she was at the workhouse for the 6 month period - how can I find if she was indeed there for the six months . Unable to locate patient information for that period.

Thanks

Sarah

Just to say that Workhouses, and Boards of Guardians, legally ceased to exist on Monday 31st March 1930. In 1930, control of the site passed to Cardiff City Council and the workhouse became City Lodge Public Assistance Institution.
