Susanna Botteril(Bottril) 1830

I have the above named marrying a Thompson Holmes in Eye, Peterborough 5 July 1853. She states birth was Walton but can find no trace of her. Any reference to a Susanna Holmes on searches refers to Thompsons sister who married on the same date.

Walton, Eye and Peterborough were all in Northamptonshire, and in 1861 Susan gives her birthplace as Walton Northants. Where have you looked for her baptism, as I can't trace a Walton in Cambs? Nor is there a Susanna Botteril on Cambs Baptism Index on http://www.cfhs.org.uk

Have you tried the Northants board?

Re Walton, this is an area of Peterborough which at that time would have been in Northants. On the later census after marriage ( which was in Eye, another village, other side of Peterborough) it gives her birthplace as Harrington, I believe this to be Werrington the next village to Walton which then would have been in Huntingdonshire. All of the said places now reside under Cambridgeshire again no trace of her.

Ann/e would appear to be 2nd wife and think this is their marriage in marriage index:

William Bottrill and an Anne Taylor both appear in Sept.qtr.1840 Peterborough

Tried to find baptisms for Susannah, Robert and Mary and only possibility I could find was for Robert on familysearch:

Robert Harris Botterill bp.2/12/1832 Newborough, Northamptonshire, son of William and Mary.

FreeReg shows the following burial:

Mary Botterill  28   bur.14/3/1838 Eye, Northamptonshire.

He dies in 1994 aged 96.
