I thought maybe that Edward who married Ellen Morris was  the father of Ellen who married James Walsh?

Hi Linda,

You have Ellen born 1824 and marrying in 1857.

Your post here is this:

I don't have very much on this family other than Edward Bury b abt 1849 married a lady called Ellen Morris in 1878 . I do have Ellen Bury and Andrew Bury.
all from over Darwen, looking for children if possible please, i did find this

Marriage: 18 Aug 1878 Holy Trinity (Now St Peter), Darwen, Lancashire, England
Edward Bury - 29, Weaver, Bachelor, Loom St
Ellen Morris - 25, Warper, Spinster, Joseph Street

The ages don't fit.

There are so many Burys, you may be getting mixed up.

Have you got a thread asking for Ellen's father- are you happy with him being married to Mary Fish?

Heywood

I have tried to search before for Edward Bury and was given Mary Fish as his wife but someone else in that family had never heard of the Walsh family as being related so I dismissed it.
Now i am having second thought's about this Mary Fish , maybe she is the link ??

Well it was a long time ago  :)

Did the person you contacted have Ellen and a marriage for her?

The parish entry- copy of the register clearly says her father is Edmund .
The transcript on Lancashire opc is wrong.

The 1841 census has a shortened form of the name which has been transcribed as 'Edwd'. However, it could easily read 'Edmd'.
As you know the witnesses to Ellen's marriage are Ralph and Nancy Almond.
Nancy's father is Edmund Bury on her marriage.

Thank you so much Heywood I will go with the Edmund and Mary Fish, I was waiting to see what you put, I just took someone else's word on the Edmund not being related to the walsh side I am working on.
You looked and someone else and both came back with the Mary Fish and Edmund Bury
