Hi, I found my great grandfather on the Belfast census 1901, he is Patrick Trainor and lived in Balkan Street Belfast.  I would love to find his parents.  All I was told was that his mothers name was Alice and she was unmarried.  I have sent for his birth certificate but if there is any other information I would love to know more about her.   Thank you xx

If his mother was unmarried then it's not looking good for finding the father.

When was he born and where?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Patrick was born in Belfast as far as I am aware in 1871.  |That would have made his mother Alice around 18 years old.  I have always been told that she was not married so I am intrigued how a catholic in those days was able to keep and raise her baby?

Were you given the impression that Alice stayed in Patrick's life ?

Were you told when she may have passed away ?

Did she ever marry ?

Just this one long shot to be her !

Patrick in 1911

VERY unusual that if his Mum's name was Alice that he didn't name ANY of his daughter's after her !

Have you got his marriage cert to Ellen Baker to see if a father is mentioned ?
