There's a John Byfield who married Emma Eliza Green at Bordesley St Andrew on 26 Dec 1868, his father is listed as Thomas a fitter.
As CaroleW has said, John and his father can be found in Aston on the 1851 and 1861 Census, along with his mother Rebecca and siblings. On the 1861 Census they are listed at Garrison Lane, Bordesley, which is the same address as on the marriage. Professions vary between 1861 Census and 1868 marriage, but then John's birthplace does too. He is listed as born Meriden on the 1851 Census, along with his siblings, but Aston on the 1861 Census (as are his siblings). There is no sign of a baptism in Meriden. Ancestry trees suggest he was the son of Thomas and Rebecca nee Green and there are a number of baptisms to a Thomas and Rebecca Byfield from 1826 at Birmingham St Philip, but not one for John.
I can't see any children to a William and Charlotte Byfield, although there is a marriage of a William Byfield and Charlotte Chaplin at Exhall in 1832. No sign of them on the census.
Did your John marry Emma Eliza Green?
