I am looking for an assortment of George Acklams of Bewholme.
My ancestor is George Acklam born in, I guess, about 1650ish because he had a son called George who was born in 1673. I don't know when he married or who, or when he died but I do know that he had more children including a son called Richard (born in 1678) who is also my ancestor.
There is a George Acklam who died in 1620/30 who founded the so called Acklam bequest.
There is a George Acklam who compounded for his estates in 1658.
These four George Acklams (and Richard Acklam) all lived in Bewholme and I guess had their baptisms deaths and marriages at the Church of Ss. Mary Magdalen and Helena, in Nunkeeling.
I have seen the records for the Acklam gravestones and memorials at Nunkeeling and I have gained some details from the IGI but I would like to see how my George is related to George (d.1629). I am sure that he must be but I lack proof.
Has anyone investigated this?
Are any wives known?
I am hoping that someone might know more information.
It seems to be a tricky one...
Bye for now,
Kirk
