Colborne, Hodgkins & Flammock of Ashorne
« on: Sunday 26 October 14 13:45 GMT (UK) »
The PCC Will of Amias Colborne mentions the following:-

 1) Amias Colborne, Gent of Ashorne died 1656
 2) his nephew Flammock Colborne (given farm in Ashorne and later died in Willington in 1664)
 3) his kinsman Colborne Hodgkins (given £20)

Looking at other PCC wills or IGI records I cannot immediately see how exactly they are all linked.

  • Can anyone find any more specific info or suggest where to look for it?
  • Are there Colborne & Hodgkins pedigrees and do they descend from the Flammocks?
  • What was Colborne Hodgkins occupation and where did he go?

I am not familiar with researching in Warwickshire so any help would be much appreciated.

N.B. A Katherine Flammock born 1549 married a John Colborne who perhaps died in Ashorne in 1600.

In case anyone is ever interested I have made a little more progress.

Colborne Hodgkins was baptised at Burmington on 8 Aug 1635 and was the son of Anthony & Meriell Hodgkins. Amias Colborne had a sister called Meriell and, as far as I can see, the only way Amias & Colborne Hodgkins could be related is through her, i.e. Meriell Colborne married Anthony Hodgkins of Willington making Colborne Hodgkins b.1635 Amias's nephew.
