A long shot in the dar
« on: Thursday 30 October 14 22:29 GMT (UK) »
I am researching my Williams family history, the family are from Birmingham and have been traced back to Oswestry. The family believe the family originated from Wales. I have traced the Williams family back to Shackfield Williams marriage to Mary Humphries in Oswestry, Shropshire 6th Feb 1773. This is were my research stops as I have hit a brickwall.
I have only been able to find one more Shackfield Williams who married Clara Eds, in Caerwys 1685.
I know it is a shot in the dark, but because of the unusual name (Shackfield) I was wondering if a link could be made to my Shackfield.

I would appreciate a look up in the parish records to find if Shackfield and Clara had any children. I am trying to trace the family forward to 1750

Regards

Steve

Hugh Wallis is suggesting the microfilm scope was > Caerwys

Family History is a Pandora's box if you don't like what you see find a new hobby, only concentrate on the proven facts and not the facts you think you know.

Thank you for the response to my posting, I will follow your suggestions. The name Shackfield  appears 5 times in the Williams line and disappears in 1866.
