SUSANNAH TOYNE of Kingerby
« on: Wednesday 05 November 14 04:38 GMT (UK) »
 :)Greetings from Australia.
I am having difficulty finding the baptism of SUSANNAH TOYNE c 1811 (parents JOHN TOYNE & SARAH BORRINGHAM).  I was told she was born at Kingerby?  There were 6 children born before SUSANNAH at Middle Rasen & 3 children after her at Kingerby.
I've tried several places at Lincs to the Past to no avail.
It would be much appreciated if someone could locate her for me.

Thank you Miriam, but this is not my Susannah Toyne.  My gr.gr.grandmother SUSANNAH TOYNE married LEONARD TODD on 3 Feb 1842 in Kingerby Parish Church.  Leonard (bapt Lionel Ellis) died 1846 and SUSANNAH TODD died 1 March 1889, buried Langley Mill.

There is an 1841  census record at Kingerby as follows:
John TOYN b 1774 Lincs Ag Lab
wife Sarah b 1774 Lincs
Susanna b 1811 Lincs F Serv
William 1816 Lincs  MServ
Mary 1830 Lincs F Serv
+ 2 ag labs Smith & Prescott

Also 1851, 1871 and 1881 census show her as b Kingerby (Saxby on 1871) but again very close by.

I found a ma for Sarah Borringham and John Tims or Toin on 22/1/1797 at Faldingworth (nr Middle Rasen Lincs)
I also found a bu for John Toyn 1864 Caistor Reg Dist

also Sarah Toyn bu 1847 (aged 73) Kingerby   Sarah was bp  1774 at Sotby Lincs, fa John, mo Elizabeth
All the above places are quite close to each other, near Market Rasen.

Whilst searching it was obvious there are lots of Toyne(s) in this area (Caistor Lincs) and several spellings eg Tim, Tims,Tawn. Toon, Toyn, Toyne and Toin so need to check all variants.
Unfortunatley I didnt find Susanna's actual bp record but I think it is safe to assume she was born Kingerby as the family seem to have lived and died in this area.

Hope this all helps - good luck.

The register is quite clear with TOIN http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=628665&iid=224028
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
