Cox family of Boyle Roscommon

am trying to find info on either Laurence Cox or his father John Cox of Boyle Roscommon. Laurence born 1837 John about 1819 Both joined 89th Foot Regiment.

hi thanks for this very useful.  I do have some info on their activity with 89th - that they shared xmas 55 together at sebastapol. but the family had always thought they joined up together, I now know that not to be the case. what I am really looking for is pre-sign up and who they married and where they lived before and after signing up. we have very little information on Laurence and didn't know Johns name until I started this journey!
