Yep, that is the family group. The James, son, from this family is the one that is stated as marrying an Elizabeth Harris, from the links above. Quite a lot of research into this family it seems.

Do not think this is your James.... :-\

 Hi monical.

      I think you are correct its not the family I am after, I will look at two more  James Darling
      born in duns around the same time.

With regard to your search, James Darling was my great Grandfather.  His daughter Susan was my
Grandmother who was born on Holy Island.

Hello  I believe the Darling family are my great grandparents from Holy Island.
jAmes Darling moved from Duns as a young man to work on one of the farms on
Holy Island ( also known as Lindisfarne). He married a local girl Margaret Shell and had
a number of children - one of which was my Grandmother Susan Darling.  At some
Stage she came to Newcastle, met and married my Grandfather (Thomas Allan)
We still go to the Island regularly and the Darling Shell families are well known
there.  I do have other information including photos.  Hope this is of interest to you.
