I have just discoverd my Great Grandfather's place of birth is one of two places.
Joseph Bond Born 1840 Skipton (1881 and 1901 Census)
Joseph Bond Born 1840 Shipton (1871 and 1891 Census) Maybe Shipton, as he lived in York after he married Lucy Busby First Qtr. 1859.

Can any one HELP!!!

I don't know his parents names?  Can anyone help!!!

I know we have been in touch already but do you have the marriage cert?

If not, maybe it would be best to apply for it and then find his fathers name hopefully on it.

Yes I think I have enough info now to apply for a Wedding Certificate. I Wasn't sure if the information on it would be them same as here in Australia! So will give it a go and see what happens!

Hi jenni

Wedding certs for England will give the most obvious

Date wedding took place
Where married, church name or reg office
Age at marriage date
occupation of both bride and groom
where residing at time of marriage
fathers name and surname of both bride and groom
fathers occupation


And then of course there will be witness names.

I took the plunge and ordered a Wedding Certificate today.  So I guess in about a week or two I'll know some of the answers!!!
