Hi
I am researching a James Wade, who appears to be the son of William and Sarah Wade, baptised 19/01/1820. I have discounted another James baptised later that year to Joseph and Jane as that child dies in 1821, buried as an infant.
The only marriage i can find is a William Wade to a Sarah Kitchener at St Margarets, Leicester on 28th November 1803. I am not sure if there is another one as there then appears to be a number of children born to a William and Sarah, between 1806 and 1837. 31 years of child birth does seem a little excessive though....
The children are William (1806-1809); Henry (1808); Hannah (1812-1877); Shadrack (1813-1899); Charlotte (1814); Joshua (1816-1901); Charlotte (1818); James (1820); Sarah (1822); Caroline (1827-1828); William (1829-1901); George (1832-1835) and Eliza (1837).
I can see a Sarah Wade in the 1851 census in Leicester (HO107; Piece: 2089; Folio: 357; Page: 19; GSU roll: 87717), born abt 1797 (which would not tie with the marriage above as she would not be old enough to marry), although she is living with children Hannah (aged 36) and Eliza (aged 14) and William (aged 22), which do tie with the above children. She lists herself as a widow and born in Hinckley. Husband William must therefore have died between 1836 and 1851. I cannot find her on earlier or later census although she appears to die in 1866.
Can anyone help me unravel these dates and find the missing census to help me establish the right family group. I still feel that 31 years of child birth is too much but i cannot see any other marriages between a William and a Sarah to address that! The name Caroline Wade does feature later in my tree and so i feel those latter children are the right family.
What am i missing as something is not quite adding up. Any thoughts, ideas or information much appreciated.
Regards
TB
