Henry Watcham, anyone know where he is buried?
« on: Wednesday 07 January 15 15:56 GMT (UK) »
I have found a death record for Henry March quarter 1886, Forehoe district which covers Costessey and is where I would expect him to have died.

He doesn't appear on the parish burials for Costessey, so I am wondering if anyone could suggest
where else he may have been buried.

In 1881 he was in the Wicklewood Workhouse,

which is also in the Forehoe RD. Still can't find a burial for him.
The workhouse may have its own burial register.

Looking at the map http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Forehoe/, the workhouse did have its own Burial Ground and Norfolk Record Office has the register of deaths, but not sure about burials.

Hi Yokel. Many thanks for that, it definitely looks like him. Thought I had found him somewhere else on the 1881 census so will be rechecking my records.

There are also a couple of others on the workhouse records who may possibly be escapees from my Tree, so once again many thanks.

Hello,

It does like like Henry was buried in the Workhouse burial ground.

Family Search have some Wicklewood workhouse records online, including death records.

At the top of this register, it says "Number of Grave", and Henry's is number 33.
Those not buried there don't have a number ....

They also have the Admissions and Discharge Registers - but with over 7,000 pages, it's a big task, especially as they are so higgledy-piggledy

Hi, we are interested in locating anyone that may be a relation of those buried at the Wicklewood Forehoe.  I live next to it and it is very important that we can prove there are people buried there to stop some potential development, so making a connection to any family members would be great.  If you are a family member of Henry Watcham would you let me know?  Thank you.

Hi Yorklass,

I would be interested in how to find the specific burial records for people buried at the Wicklewood Forehouse.  I have had a look in the Family Search but it is difficult to find without knowledge of how to search.  Any help greatly appreciated.
