The Hibbert Family-Emigration to Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia 1829
« on: Thursday 08 January 15 15:10 GMT (UK) »
I know this is a long shot but I am trying to locate a Wright Hibbert born 1825 in Bolton, Lancashire, England to a Robert Hibbert born 1784 in Blackrod, Lancashire and his wife Catherine Crook(married on the 10th February 1807 at Deane, Saint Mary, Lancashire). Wright appears on the immigration records dated the 24th October 1829 as arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at this point on the Ship Peru. There is a reference to a death record of his father listed as dying in this area in 1850 of Consumption. He is listed as a Weaver which fits perfectly as does the age of his father at his death.
Wright had 3 sisters, Catherine born 1814,Susannah born 1811, Thomas 1810 and Betty 1808 all from the Bolton area. There is no sign of them in England at all so could it be possible they have all emigrated to America? Can anyone help please as I'm not sure what to do next in locating them especially Wright Hibbert born 1825.
Thank you.

Searching the Philadelphia , Passenger and Immigration Lists by the surname Hibert , which is how Wright is listed , returns Betsey , Susan , Catherine , John and Ellen all on the same voyage, but I can't see the parents , Robert and Catherine.

Thank you. I am taking all that information down. I only found Wright Hibbert in 1829 by accident and I was unable to find much else but this definetly looks as if it the same family. It sometimes just needs another pair of eyes to see what you are missing so I am very grateful.
Kind Regards.
