Two of the several trees at ancestry relating to Peter DIGNAN include the second name of "Mark".
[Quite probably one of those trees has copied information from the other -  the dates of birth are at odds too. ??]

The tree which includes the additional name "Mark" (and contains the most info), cites an "1847 christening at St. Patricks, Auckland" and "confirmation at St Patricks, 1858, aged 12".    Clicking on the links provided, doesn't reveal any helpful details.   There was also a note to contact the tree owner with any queries.

Thanks very much for all of the great information, links and the photo. I appreciate all of the information. I will have to see if I can get the baptismal record from St. Patrick's which should give me the definitive answer! Thanks again everyone!

 :-\ Possibility perhaps that Mark is the Confirmation name he chose, most don't generally use it but some like to and that may have been picked up.
