Have you actually enquired about getting the certificate for this 1883 marriage? Maybe when the returns were being filled in, the person accidentally put her fathers name, which I see was John from the earlier censuses.
I know on some of my certificates, surnames have been different, and I've read postings on here where fathers have ended up marrying daughters etc etc because wrong names have been entered. Maybe you could make enquiries at the local register office? It could give you a completely different name to search for on the 1891/1901 censuses. (Had a quick look on ancestry.com for females on the 1891 census born Claygate, Surrey 1857 and it came up with four names - Annie Spittles, Anne Parsons, Emma Smith and Catherine Milletts. Annie Spittles is also on the 1881 census though so that rules her out, couldnt find Anne Parsons though.....)
Regards,
Catherine
(Theres also an Annie "Monday"?, widow, on the 1891 census, b.1856 Claygate that I couldnt find on the 1881 census)
