Joseph GREEN cabinet maker etc of Penrith: 1840s
« on: Sunday 22 February 15 16:18 GMT (UK) »
Joseph married in the Penrith registration district in March qtr 1841.  On the 1841 census he is given as being 30.  He seemingly died before 1851 when his wife was shown as widow.  His wife was Catherine, nee BELL from Peover in Cheshire.  She died in Penrith in 1887.

Does anyone have more information about Joseph, please?  Catherine is in my family tree - am curious to understand how/why she was in Penrith and particularly to know about the family of Joseph.

Thank you.  Ooops, typo - sorry.  1851 should be 1861 when she is widow.

Peene is Peover!!  Pronounced Peever.

I could write a book about Catherine - have all her census appearances - bar her move to Penrith and marriage to Joseph!

Yes, thank you.

I have the publicly/freely available information on him.  Am keen to find out if others have Joseph in their research/tree.

The marriage cert should give you the parents and enable you to go further back.  Looks as if there is a Joseph Green baptised 12 Jun 1805 - St Andrew, Penrith, Cumberland - parents John Green and Ann Thompson.

Have you checked the Surnames Interest Table  ??? Or added your own info  ???

Scroll down to the bottom of (any RootsChat) page.

In the dark box, under "Your Tools" you will see "Surname Interests".

Click on that; then "Quick Search"; then select the initial letter ( G ).
Scroll down to find G  click on that and if there is any researchers they will pop up.
