Confused by births that are seemingly same people borm Spilsby and Toyton

I thought they were different people but dates and parents names match. I don't understand this. I assume that Spilsby is the place of registration? Or I just getting this wrong?

I've seen this happen with my ancestors, quite often the local church recorded their births and then the nearest largest town also recorded their births.

"Toynton All Saints is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England, about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of the town of Spilsby"

I think you are right Spilsby would be where they were officially registered at birth. In reality the actual physical birth was probably at Toynton.

Yes that is the case. Many of my ancestors were born married and died in Alford Lincs, the events were all registered in Spilsby which as stated was the area office.

I think you are right Spilsby would be where they were officially registered at birth. In reality the actual physical birth was probably at Toynton.

Recorded by the church?

The church records will be a baptism and could be at a church miles from the place of birth and potentially a different county or even country. The birth registration will have been made by the informant with the  local registrar within the Registration District within which the birth took place.
