"CMH"

Gilroes cemetery disc. Place of abode = "CMH". Would I be right in thinking that this means something like "city mental hospital" -- ie the asylum? And would that be the Towers?

Researching some of my family, my Great Great Grandmother is mentioned in the 1901 census as being in the District General Infirmary - on the document it says her occupation is "Housework" and then in the column for the state of mind "staff". Yet the transcript is mentioned as "Patient".

Was this the Leicester Borough Asylum?

Later on, on the marriage certificate of her daughter in 1915 - at St Michaels All Angels Church, her daughters job is mentioned as "Asylum Nurse".

I wonder if there is a connection.
