I am seeking help finding Death Notices for 3 RUNCIMAN who are buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta ( 2 in 1970 & 1 in 1976 ).

An email has been sent to the Cemetery requesting Dates of Death or burial.

Please can anyone help?

Not sure if this is one of the ones you want because it is a much later date than you mention - but will post just in case - Obit for Roderick Allen Runciman - Published in the Calgary Herald 14 December 2007 -  Passed Away 11 December 2007

James Paterson Runciman - 1876 - 1971

Ian Ralph Andrew Runciman - 1921 - 1976 (son of James Paterson Runciman and Annie Gertrude nee Andrew Runciman. An accountant who was living at 7419 7th Street SW - Calgary Alberta with his wife Carole in 1974.

Annie Gertrude nee Andrew Runciman - 1891 - 1971

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

Sandra is correct.

James and Gertrude moved from Regina after he retired in 1951.
Currently I know of 4 children Eleanor, Ian, Doreen & James.
I have death notices for Eleanor, who died in Ontario, & James (BC).
Have no idea what became of Doreen so was hoping that the Calgary Death Notices would provide some clues.

Diversifying slightly - The Winnipeg Tribune - Saturday, June 19, 1943 gave a list of missing on active service after air operations and on that list was Ian Ralph Runciman - James P Runciman -  (father)  2900 Hill Ave Regina.

You need to go the the bottom of the page and scroll thru slowly - only gives a short piece - the rest is pay per view.

Wife of Ian Ralph Runciman - Carole Joanne Runciman born about 1933 and passed away  Saturday May 9, 2009 at the age of 77 years.

James Paterson Runciman died on 31 October 1971 and his obituary appeared in the Calgary Herald on 1 Nov 1971, page 34.

According to his obituary, his wife, Annie Gertrude Runciman died on 24 October 1971 but unfortunately issues of the Calgary Herald from late October 1971 do not seem to be available online so her obituary will be a little harder to track down.
James' obituary mentions three surviving daughters and gives their married names as well as where they live.
