Will some kind person please try and find anything on LIONEL OSBOURNE PAINTER 1902 Headington.
He married Annie Gertrude McPherson 1929 Headington,aged 30.
From this point the trail goes cold, no siblings found.

As he was born after the 1901 Census It is quite difficult to locate him other than a birth certificate showing the names of his Parents. On the BMD he is listed as June 1902 Headington 3a 965. Maybe you could get a copy. Cost £7.00
I am assuming you don't have the names of his Parents.
I could try and locate him next time I visit the record office. This won't be for a couple of weeks.
If you do know the Parents let me know and I can look further.

Ref: 3a 1632

I wouldn't rely on this until you have the birth cert, but it looks promising, given Lionel's middle name

LIONEL OSBOURNE PAINTER

If Lionels Parents were Thomas Painter and Edith Florence Osbourne. Then I have found them on the 1901 Census
Living in Fulham. They were both listed as born in Oxford.
He was a Grocers assisstant in a wharehouse.
They had one son Harold F 6months born in Hammersmith.

Lizzie, thank you very much,this sounds right as Annie McPhersons older sister Catherine also married a Grocers Assistant in 1924.The grocery bit stems from the Painter side.
