Scituate, Massachusetts Mystery Woman
« on: Monday 23 March 15 15:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I bought this photo from an antique shop in Scituate, Mass. about10 years ago. She struck me as a very beautiful lady, but the reason I bought the photo had to do with my interest in old newspapers. I noticed that the photo was lined with old newsprint through a crack in the boards on the back. I figured the price was worth it for a night of fun looking at an old newspaper. It was! There were actually 2 newspapers from Boston, dating from 1903. I still have them!
Anyway, I am hoping someone may know who the subject is. If she is a family member of yours, you can have her for postage (if applicable). If someone wants to buy the photo, make an offer.
The photo is pretty large: 10.5"x13.75".
There is a penciled signature-just one name, I cannot read. I'll try to scan it. There is also an embossed insignia, and an embossed studio emblem: "The Garo Studio Boston."
I still have the original frame.

Thanks!
Steve
