WW1 home based Military Police

I have a photo of my Grandfather in a WW1 bands uniform.

I have always been told that he was attached to the Kings Rifles and the sleeve of the uniform he is wearing shows two crossed rifles.

I know he was based at home as his health was too poor for him to have enlisted.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can find out more?  Many thanks.

You say in your header he was Military Police & in your post he was attached to the KR.
If that's the case then he would have been accepted into the army.
Could it be was classified something other than A1 fit & therefore not fit for front line service & used as home defence?
Is it possible he was a volunteer civilian PC?
Can we see the photo?
