Wright and Cooper
« on: Sunday 29 March 15 17:23 BST (UK) »
George Wright from Inkberrow  1841 married Sarah Cooper at Inkberrow 30 June 1863.
They had  Ada Wright at Sedgeberrow Worcester 1865 and Mary Ann Wright  1878/9 Cheltenham Gloucestershire.
I can find George Wright on 1851, 1861, and 1871 census George is on his own on 1871 all at Inkberrow.
I can find Sarah Wright nee Cooper only the 1881 census where she is at 33 Brunswick Street Cheltenham.
John Drinkwater is head of property age 38, with Sarah Wright as employee as housekeeper and shop, age 40  birth 1843 Coughton Warwick.
Ada Wright is 16 years and in brackets is Drinkwater.  Mary Ann Wright age 2 is also Drinkwater.  She is my Great Grandmother.  She had two children before marriage named Drinkwater, when they married the two children have birth certificates in the name of Green.  They were all living together before and after marriage.
Can anyone find Sarah Wright nee Cooper on any other census please?.

The 1881 you mention is RG11; Piece: 2572; Folio: 13; Page: 19.

I do not see Ada or Mary Ann as Drinkwater - their mother is Sarah Wright married born [just] Worcestershire , they are Ada 'ditto' & Mary Ann 'ditto' - so Wrights.

Will now try to find Sarah pre 1881.

OK thanks, I think OP has some info mixed up  :). The 1891 Mary A does not have Drinkwater in brackets.

Beat me to it with that 1871 jim, I was still typing  ;D. OP thought George was on his own..

Still looking for Sarah....and perhaps George died 1871 - 1881 & Mary Ann's father is John Drinkwater? Sarah is widowed in 1891.

ADDED: Can't yet find a suitably aged George Wright death in Worcestershire 1871 - 1881 on freebmd. Might it be worth obtaining the 1863 marriage certificate to find out Sarah's father's name?
Marriages Jun 1863
COOPER    Sarah        Alcester    6d   734
WRIGHT    George        Alcester    6d   734.

There are quite a few Sarah Cooper baptisms around  1840 in Warwickshire on familysearch.

Thank you very much josey and jim, I  thought there ought to be more children for George , and Sarah . (I did not know she came from Bromsgrove.     William Wright is George's father.  I have the marriage certificate of George  Wright and Sarah Cooper.  {  Also the marriage cert for Mary Ann Wright and Thomas Bert Green}  I think it may have been a shock for Mary Ann Drinkwater /Wright when  she married  as Wright, father George deceased.  Maybe John Drinkwater gave her away or is that a modern thing?  He was the only father she had known.
 Once again thank you both.
