Births Dec 1909
DAWSON  Fanny Elizabeth
Derby  7b 577

Deaths Sep 1912
DAWSON  Fanny E  2
Derby  7b 549

Assuming E is Elizabeth and this is the same little girl.  Don't want to lead you to the wrong person.

So Milliepede, I have recently acquired the birth and death records for these Fanny Dawson's and they are a match and I 100% believe these are the right girls as in the same girl. The address on the birth record matches the address that Mary Ellen Dawson was living at at the time of the birth and on the death record it clearly indicates whom the mother was.  Now the search continues. it has on the death certificate the name of a grandmother which would be the fathers mother. its a Maria Jordan living on Field Lane Alvaston Derby. Can you see her any where in the 1901 or 1911 census?

I was interested in your post as I have Dawsons in my trees but they don't appear to be the same family.
However, I had a look for Maria Jordan for you. Can't see her at all in 1911 but in 1901 there are two families in Alvaston as follows:
23 Oxford Street Boulton, Alvaston
William Jordan b1861 Moreton Cheshire Gas Works Labourer
Maria b 1860 Shropshire
Thomas son 1887 Birkenhead
Sarah E da 1889 Birkenhead
Maria da 1892 Moreton
William so 1898 Moreton
Harry so 1901 Alvaston

1901 at 326 Commerce St Crewton Alvaston
Samuel Jordan b 1870 Alvaston Railway Shop Clerk
Maria wife 1876 Derby
Harold so 1899 Crewton

There is also a mar of Maria Jordan to Isaac J Howarth 3rd qtr 1918 Shardlow district and a bp of Maria Jordan 1st qtr 1846 Shardlow.
Hope this may be helpful.

Good finds.

1901 at 326 Commerce St Crewton Alvaston
Samuel Jordan b 1870 Alvaston Railway Shop Clerk
Maria wife 1876 Derby
Harold so 1899 Crewton
I suspect this Maria is a little young to be a grandmother of a child born 1910.

Where did Fanny die?

I agree that Maria from 1878 would likely be too young, but the Maria from 1860 would be the age to become a grandmother when the child was born in 1909. Perhaps they had a child named James?

Thanks
