Lucy Isabel Oconnor Born 1898 Lincoln
« on: Thursday 09 April 15 21:07 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, is it possible to view the marriage entry for the above ? she wed Patrick Joseph Kavanagh in September 1923 Lincoln, that much I know, it is Patrick I am interested in, I had some notes but lost them, Im sure he came from Waterford, but do not know his birth year. Is the marriage entry available on line anywhere ? How do I get more info on Patrick ?

Thanks again

John

Unless you know the name of the church they were married in you can't look it up in parish records.   It may have been a civil marriage so you will need to buy a copy of the marriage cert

These are all the areas covered by the Lincoln RD

Hi John

It's unlikely that you'll find this online as it's quite recent. Most records online are those that took place in Anglican churches where the historic registers have been deposited for safekeeping and usually prior to the 1920's

There's also the chance that the marriage was celebrated at the place of worship of another denomination or religion (Jewish, Quaker, Catholic)

If the registrar was involved because the minister of the church wasn't licenced to perform marriages or the marriage took place at the register office, then those won't be online either.

It may be quicker to purchase the cert from the GRO for £9.25

Looks like they are both buried at St Swithins Cemetery in Lincoln.

She was born 1899, died 1982
He was born 1894, died 1992

They were living at 22 Vine St in 1957.  Vine St was also given as their abode at the time of their deaths.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
