I have hit a dead end; I know there are still some Cook's in the area but no longer in touch.

So thought this might be a good start!

Hi

Is this a one name study or specific to a particular family?  Cook/e is not an uncommon surname so you need to give a lot more info if you are researching a particular branch

The 1911 census has 128 instances of the surname Cook living in Liverpool and 76 of the surname Cooke.

That is searching specifically Liverpool - not other areas such as West Derby, Bootle Toxteth etc

Carlin (Ireland & Liverpool) Doughty & Wright (Liverpool) Dick & Park (Scotland & Liverpool)
