The 1952 passenger list you referred to indicates their last permanent residence had been the US. It also indicates their intended future permanent residence was to be England.
There is another passenger list that has Hilda Jack with the same birth date arriving in Liverpool on the Empress of Britain on 7 Jun 1960. She was there for a 2 week visit and was to return to Canada. I've noticed as well that she is listed as being single on this passenger list.
