COOK-RYAN FAMILY OF CHICHESTER
« on: Sunday 19 April 15 15:20 BST (UK) »
Good morning,

I'm doing family research for a friend of mine and I am hitting a brickwall. Can someone direct me in finding the parents of GLADYS COOK b. ca. 1915. According to records her mother's maiden name was Ryan. Gladys married ERNEST YOUNGE b. ca. 1912. They married about 1937.  I would love to find the parents of Gladys and Ernest if possible, but any information would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Hope

Hi,

There is a birth record of an Ernest G Younge -
q2 1912, West Derby, Lancashire
Vol 8b Page 1203
Mother's maiden name - Watson

The marriage record for Gladys shows her spouse as Ernest G Younge and as this appear to be the only one c.1912, it would appear to be correct. Therefore a marriage of Younge/Watson needs to be found.

Possible marriage (missing the 'e' off Younge  ??? )-

Walter Hugh Young
Marital Status - Single
Age - 22
Marriage - 11 Feb 1900, St. Margaret's, Anfield, Walton On The Hill, Lancaster
Father - William Young
Spouse - Matilda Jane Watson

However to confirm these details it would be advisable to purchase the marriage cert of Gladys and Ernest in the hope their father's names are recorded.

This could be the marriage of Gladys' parents -

Emily Ryan
q4 1910, Midhurst, Sussex
Vol 2b Page 826

On the same page is an Alfred Cook

Thank you so much JJen you helped me to confirm the Young/Younge line. Thank you for showing me the information on Alfred Cook and Emma Ryan, I was unable to find that information, I will look into  it further. :)
