John Chester & Louise Thomas of Walthamstow/Leyton Area

Am trying to find any information on John Chester & Louise Thomas; parents of John James b1913,
Lilian Louise 1915 - 1934, Grace Hilda 1919. From Grace's birth cert, I have found that her father was a factory foreman in a mineral waters factory. It is possible that John was a bigamist with another family in Manchester (from oral family history).

Without details of his birthyear and birthplace it would be difficult to place the right John Chester.

Did he remain with Louise until he died or did he leave?

If he stayed - where and when did he die as that may help with his birthyear.

Haven't been able to get much information on John Chester at all. Am hoping that the 1939 register being prepared by findmypast may help with either John or Louise, even the 1921 census when it comes out but that is still some way off! Didn't manage to find marriage record either.

Hi I note ( if I have the correct marriage) that Grace H Chester married a George E Hazlewood in Dec qtr 1940 Essex SW 4a 777, I also note a death of a Louise Chester b abt 1891 death March 1938 Essex SW 4a 263 aged 47 was this Louise?

Also a death of a John Chester b abt 1883 in Dec 1941 Southend on Sea aged 58

Yes, Grace H Chester m George E Hazelwood in 1940. I will have to do some checking on the Louise Chester  who d1938 & John Chester d1941 - they are possibles. Thank you for that.

This is the only birth on freebmd for a Louise Thomas between 1890-1892

Births September qtr 1891 
Louise Maud Thomas     Northampton    3b   54

However - there are a great many for John Chester born between 1882-1884

Hi again, surely oral family history would at least suggest that Louise died prior to the marriage of Grace or not, could Louise have been registered as a Louisa but went by the name Louise, as their is a Colchester born Louisa b 1891?

My next step is to get Grace's marriage certificate - I was just hoping for ideas on looking for John & Louise. Thanks for your input.
