Coal Mining Books and Colliery Maps
« on: Monday 11 May 15 01:36 BST (UK) »
could anyone recommend any books that have the best coverage concerning coal mining in Britain? Maybe containing a map of each mine and colliery in Britain?

thanks

A number of great links have already been given earlier in this thread.  To get the maximum amount of information, it might be best to look at each area of interest separately  ???  You seem to have many ancestors in Cumberland (now Cumbria)  - this was quite an interesting piece to read
