I am attempting to trace Nellie Bone born 1881, from Middlesbrough, UK who may have been the Nellie recorded as a passenger on the Ivernia which departed Queenstown 7 Aug 1907 for Boston. If this is her and she stayed in USA and not accompanying a family she worked for, I am assuming she would have applied for 'citizenship'?

Would some kind rootschatter look up arrivals in Boston of that ship and see if she is on it please? Where would I find information on 'naturalization'? I do appreciate that just because she arrived in Boston would not mean she chose to 'root' there and of course it is possible she returned to UK or even travelled much much further north.

As always grateful thanks for any help.

Ladyfing. :-)

Hi
I've found her arrival in Boston on the 15 August aboard the Ivernia
She is 25 servant from Rusheena Ballaghan heading to Providence by rail road.
So is her sister Kate age 35.
They can both read and write and are British Irish.

The couple had returned form New York on the 25.5.1907 resident Boston Campania to Liverpool and Queenstown.

Are you sure it's your Nellie?

Hi CD,

No was not sure but as she disappeared after 1891, no death or marriage found AND the y.o birth fitted, I thought I'd be sure it was not her. Many of my ancestors had 'itchy feet'  ;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to look for me.

For future reference, this and many other passenger lists are available for free at www.familysearch.org.
