In the light of SBib's queries I have looked again at the image, blown it up, etc.
Yes, what I read as Sarah could be Easter, ( not Esther, though are interchangeable) and indeed it has been transcribed as such. As for James age, yes, again it might be 35

All bn  Morley apart from James who was bn Garston Lancs. I didnt put all that in my initial reply, indeed my study of the census image may have been  rather substandard, because your initial request was just for the marital status of Ann - I only gave the bare bones of the rest of the houshold to keep it in context.

It is always helpful if you give all the info you have when making requests. A bare bones request brings a bare bones reply!

I didn't have any more detail as I only had the brief 1871 census info from FamilySearch.
I usually get full details when I make a request but I guess I must be more specific in future.

But you knew there should be an Esther, and you knew James' age . . . . . . . . . . . .  .

I already had the family next door to Ann, supplied to me by someone else, but I didn't know anything about Ann. From FamilySearch I discovered Ann as a sister. I was thinking that she must be the sister of her lodger but couldn't find them. I assume that Ann is the sister of James but she should have been listed as 'Head' of household. This error by the enumerator could prove helpful later.
