Having discovered that my Great grandfather Michael Alfred King (born in Whitehaven) and married in Bessbrook,Ireland (now Northern Ireland) in 1886 and then continued to live in Northern Ireland until his death he was therefore considered a "blow-in" in that part of the country. Having difficulty in finding any further details about the King family in Whitehaven ( can go back to late 1700s) beyond that I can find nothing in the Cumberland area. Were they "blow-ins"?
