Ralph Hale
« on: Wednesday 10 June 15 13:39 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone , started up my tree again and still stuck on the birth of Ralph Hall born 1832 married Mary Ann Turpin at Kelloe on 16th Nov 1850. Father Ralph, Mother Ann Nattress. Over a year or more ago since I got a lot of helpful answers back but with no joy. I have come across a Ralph Hale born December 30th 1832 in Hetton le Hole which could be him, checked the records on LDS and can you believe it they finished on the 27th Dec 1832. Just wondering if anyone can find Ralph Hale in there records. Thanks in advance.
George

Hi George
It reads from your post as if you have his parents as Ralph and Ann Nattress.

What more are you looking for?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Thanks for answering my query Milliepede. I am only doing direct family and I got his parents names from the 1841 census when Ralph was only 9. I searched for one of his other brothers births which I found so that's how I got there names. But alas I just cannot find Ralphs birth at all, the census states Durham, can find a few Ralphs Hall births around 1832 but not with those parents. So beginning to wonder if he was there son or did they look after him? Thought if someone had those records for Hetton le Hole they could confirm for me that it could be the Ralph Hall I am looking for. Thanks once again for answering.
George

Do you mean you can't find a baptism?
What about the other probable siblings from 1841 - have they all got baptisms with the same parents and just his is missing?

What birthplace does he put on later census?
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Yes it is the baptism I am looking for. In the census it states only Durham. I asked about this maybe a couple of years ago and one of your members checked out both Durham and Northumberland for me and there was nothing there at all. Still looking I came across a baptism for the 30th December 1832 at Hetton le Hole, but it states Ralph Hale not Hall and was wondering if this could be him. Looking through the LDS archives it went no further than 27th December so was wondering if anyone had the missing pages. Thanks again for answering me. Maybe if no one knows I will book a session at Durham Record Office to see if it is in their archives.

That 30 Dec 1832 is a baptism date, not a birth date.  It will be in the Archives in Durham, it is on my transcript as Hale.  He is the only one with a Ralph/Ann as parents for the Hale, Hailes, Hales, and Halls in the parish church up to 1839.
Co. Durham:  Hall, Snowdon, Makepeace, Barnfather, Barrass, Gray/Grey, Wilson, Carr, Cole, Richardson, Greener, Lamb
Northumberland:  Grey/Gray, Richardson, Barnfather, Heron, Redpath

Thank you so much for that information, I will book a session at the Record office and see what I can find. I am sure this must be the right person I am looking for.
