Looking for collis family
« on: Saturday 20 June 15 23:27 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the whereabouts of 2 of my Great Uncles graves. There names are Frederick Collis born 1890 and died 1946 and Alfred Collis born 1897 and died 1939. They were born in Shepherds Bush Hammersmith and were 2 of 7 Boys who all moved to Epsom with there parents Emma Sophia Collis (Hughes) and Henry Collis. It would be lovely to hear from any one who knows the exact whereabouts of their graves or even to hearing from any related family members.

Hi

There is . . . . .
Alfred Collis Buried On: 07 November 1939, Recorded at: Sutton Cemetery (Sutton)

and . . . . .
Death Jun 1946 Brentford 3a 281 Frederick Collis (56y)
so close to Brentford would be my guess.

Hi Ray

Thanks for that information that is really helpful - I will make a few phone calls to find out where the plot is as Sutton is not that far from where I live, so I may be able to make a visit.

Yvonne

Hello
We have an Alfred Collis b1897 in Pimlico.  Assume its a different one but if not, we discovered he changed his name to Peter later in life.  Let me know if you want more details.  Lizzie Collis

Hi Lizzie
Thanks for your post. It is the wrong Alfred Collis as my Great Uncle Alfred was born in shepherds bush and I have now found him buried in Sutton Cemetery - still under the name of Alfred.

regards
Yvonne

Hi Yvonne
No problem but I still suspect there is a link - my husband Mark Collis was born in Sutton.  I'm finding lots of Alfreds in his line too.  Ill let you know if I join the dots!  L
