Birth/Baptism Lookup In Montreal Please

Hello There,

Please can someone help me on a birth/baptism lookup on Marie-Anne Roy baptised 1789 in Montreal, the parents are Charles Roy & Genevieve Cardinal.

I've attached an entry from the parish records of Basilique Notre-Dame, Montreal.

It looks like the date is 28 Apr 1789 but I can't make out whether that is the birth or baptism date.

Thankyou for your time on looking up my ancestor, it does get confusing on whether which is which on the birth or baptism record.

It looks like Marie-Anne was baptised the 28th, and née d'hier or born yesterday. The really interesting thing is that she was baptized sous condition, or conditionally. It seems that Marie-Anne may have been in danger of death at her moment of birth and given a baptism by someone other than a priest, so as a second baptism wasn't allowed the priest would have done a baptism that was only an "in case the first one wasn't valid" sort of thing. If I understand it correctly, anyway. At any rate, she was baptized conditionally. And the parents and godparents couldn't sign their names.

Thankyou so much for looking up for me and also with info on problem of living.
I have found a few errors on spelling of our surname, its actually McFarling, and on the records i've seen so many strange spellings as Roy,Roi,McFerling,Ferling,Mkferling, and my 5th grandparents are Charles Maquefarlin & Genevieve Cardinal who married in 1783 in Lachine nr Montreal.
