looking for half brother

my half brother was adopted in 1956  his name at birth was (*) sharp born 23/2/1956  st monicas mother and baby home dalton drive kendal westmorland  mother  doreen sharp (deceased)  i have only found out about my brother last november my  2  full sibling brothers both have curvature of the spine im so desperate to find ian to hope he is ok and well please please help me fine my brother  kind regards linda

Have you put your names on the GRO adoption contact register?

https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

Do you know what his name became after adoption? If not, there is no way of linking an entry in the GRO birth index with an entry in the GRO adopted childrens index and so very little way of tracing him through the normal routes.
