« on: Saturday 11 July 15 09:38 BST (UK) »
Hello,
Recently I came across a death certificate of my grand father (Scottish).

I was not able to recognise a name on a certificate. first name is Annie but I can't understand the last name in that writing.

could anyone please recognise/decipher that name.

thanks for your help.

My guess is Meleshon. Meleslon or Melealon?. The first letter is definitely an M , I know a few older people who still write m's like that.
Other suggestions, Melealn, Melesln, MaCealn ?

Hi A,

If you want to clarify it further to be Malcolm you can look for the marriage of daughter Annie to Mr Malcolm on SP.

I saw it as Mc Lean, but then realised that there are too many letters in the last part of the name,so I still think Mc something.
