marriage lookup South Weald 1742

I have seen a reference to a marriage of Robert EVE and Jane WOOD at South Weald in 1742 but can't seem to find it myself. Does anyone have access to the Parish Records to confirm whether this marriage record actually exists?

Oh thankyou so much Mark! Everything else I had seen on the "Eve" website seemed legit, but couldn't corroborate this one. Does the parish Record show witnesses or residence? or any other info?

If the Eve website you have in mind is the one that is called "The Eve Surname Pages" then please note it is not 100% correct, so you need to be cautious.

My ancestor is Weston Eve born 1749 in High Easter and is found under Thomas Eve II.

The site shows him married incorrectly to a Lucy Woods 1799 at Gt Waltham and it shows their children born 1774 to 1796 at High Easter

Scrolling down the page finds Lucy Woods married to correctly to Abraham Eve in 1799 at Gt Waltham, with children born 1801 to 1821.

In truth Weston Eve born 1749 High Easter married Sarah Wheal in 1773 at Maldon Essex, the children shown belonging to Weston and Lucy are all belonging to Weston and Sarah, they were baptised 1774 to 1794 at High Easter.

Myself and others over the years have tried to get the error corrected but nothing doing, the lady researcher who supplied a lot of Eve info to that site agreed that from her research Weston Eve did marry Sarah Wheal, she herself tried to get the error corrected but it remains.

Never the less it is a top site for anyone researching the Eve name but like all transcriptions the onus is on us to verify the info in Parish Registers or BMD certs where applicable.

And thank you findem, yes that is the website I had seen. And yes, as you say I wouldn't take anything I read there as necessarily absolutely accurate. I have found it very useful as a guide, but have always tried to verify with my own research.
